CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel) today announced the results of the 2017 Four-Year Evaluation. The study evaluated 4,175 Post-Graduation Programs stricto sensu in the National Postgraduate System (SNPG). which the Postgraduate Program in Animal Science of the Federal University of Viçosa was with concept 7.
There were 6 weeks of face-to-face assessment in all regions of the country and the data were analyzed by the Technical-Scientific Council of Higher Education (CTC-ES). The commissions use as basis for the evaluation the information provided in a continuous way by the programs during the evaluated period, through the Platform Sucupira. At the beginning of each year, the information regarding the previous year is chancelada by the pro-rectors.
The CAPES Assessment indicates a remarkable growth of Post Graduation in Brazil, in the last evaluation between 2013 and 2016 3,337 programs were counted, jumping to 4,175 in 2017. The intellectual production of the evaluated ones also increased, reaching an increase of 84% in relation to the data of 2010 -2012.
